The joint conference of the German Political Science Association (DVPW), the Austrian Society for Political Science (ÖGPW) and the Swiss Political Science Association (SVPW/ASSP) is dedicated to the topic "Europe’s Future – Future Europe. To kick off the conference, this session creates an open space for informal exchange between early-career researchers and more experienced colleagues at five themed tables:

As part of the official opening, Herfried Münkler (Humboldt University of Berlin) will deliver the keynote address on the topic “Europe in a geopolitical sandwich position. And what is needed to break free from it”. Afterwards, all participants are cordially invited to a champagne reception with finger food.
Do E | Roundtable | Thursday, 18 June 2026, 5.45–7.15 pm & PARTY
On Thursday evening, representatives from DVPW, ÖGPW and SVPW/ASSP will discuss “Political Science and its Professional Associations in a Changing Europe”. From 8.30 pm, the Joint Conference Party will take place on the ZF Campus. Anyone who wishes to do so can enjoy some quiche during the break beforehand. Drinks will be available at cost price at the bar during the evening.
AFG | Parenting and Academia
Domenica Dreyer-Plum and Sonja Blum from the DVPW’s Committee for the Advancement of Women and Gender Equality (AFG) invite you to an exchange of experiences (Thursday, 18 June 2026, 10.30 am–12.00 pm) and a campus walk (Friday, 19 June 2026, 12:00–13:00) on the topic of “Parenting and Academia”. Prior registration by email is appreciated but not required.
The Committee for the Advancement of Women and Gender Equality (AFG) cordially invites you to an informal discussion on experiences relating to the topic of ‘Parenting and Academia’. The aim is to highlight the challenges of balancing work and family life in academia, to raise awareness of the need to take care responsibilities into account, and to gather ideas for improving gender equality. We look forward to an open dialogue in which practical experiences, ideas and concrete proposals for action can be discussed. Please register by emailing the organisers, though spontaneous participation is also welcome.

“It’s a match!” creates an open space within the 2026 Joint Conference for informal discussion between early-career researchers and more experienced colleagues on practical research issues, conceptual matters, and topics relating to science and disciplinary policy:
All early career researches are warmly invited to join the discussion at one of the thematic tables. There is no need to prepare a presentation or a written submission. To help us plan, we would appreciate a non-binding online registration for one of the thematic tables by 31 May 2026 via the meineDVPW portal, but spontaneous participation is also welcome. Discussions are likely to take place in German.

In view of the expected programme decision by the EPSS, the programme committee has extended the registration deadline for active participants (chairs, discussants, speakers) until 8 February 2026.
Accordingly, early career scholars (Q-Wissenschaftler*innen) can also apply for a travel allowance from the DVPW's Q-Fund until 8 February 2026.
Today, the programme committee has sent out acceptances and rejections for the closed panels (including panel contributions) and individual contributions. The panel organisers and first authors have each received a corresponding email and are asked to inform their chairs, discussants and co-authors.
Registration is now open until 15 May 2026 via the meineDVPW portal. Further information on registration can be found here. All active participants must register for the Tri-Country Conference by 31 January 2026 in order to be listed in the programme!

Today marks the opening of the call for proposals for panels and individual papers for the Dreiländertagung 2026. Proposals can be submitted online via meineDVPW until 14 November 2025!
The programme committee will then review the submitted proposals and announce the acceptance of panels and individual papers by early 2026 at the latest.
