From 7 to 10 September 2027, the 30th Academic Convention of the German Political Science Association (DVPW), on the theme ‘World in Flux. What about Political Science?’, will take place at Leipzig University. #dvpw2027
Today marks the opening of the call for proposals for open and closed panels, as well as roundtables, at the 2027 DVPW Convention!
Proposals for open panels can be submitted online via meineDVPW until 15 August 2026. Once the Programme Committee has selected the open panels, a call for papers will be published here on the convention website in early September. Proposals for papers can then be submitted online via the portal until 31 October 2026.
Proposals for closed panels (featuring 4–5 papers) and roundtables can also be submitted online via meineDVPW until 31 October 2026.
The Programme Committee will then review the submitted proposals and is expected to announce the acceptance of papers, panels and roundtables by the end of the year.
On the recommendation of the Council, the DVPW Executive Committee adopted a new DVPW Code of Conduct on 8 May 2026, which applies with immediate effect to all events organised under the auspices of the DVPW – and therefore also to the DVPW Convention! Our aim is to create an inclusive, respectful and non-discriminatory environment for all participants. We would like to thank you in advance for your contribution to a collegial, respectful and productive DVPW Convention for all involved!

The next DVPW Convention will take place on 7–10 September 2026 at Leipzig University. Further details and the calls for proposals for panels and roundtables are expected to be published in early summer 2026.
