The DVPW Executive Committee (EC) has accepted 160 panels, which speak to the overall convention theme “It’s our choice! Politics in Times of Uncertainty and Autocratization”. The Panels will take place within six time slots of 90 minutes each on 14-16 September 2021. The EC now calls for paper proposals for the 98 open panels among those accepted. You can find all panel abstracts submitted by the panel organizers on the DVPW website.

Please note the following rules:

• Each proposal must contain the title, an abstract (max. 250 words) and information on all authors and/or presenters of the paper.
• Each panel should feature a maximum of four paper presentations.
• Panels can be held in English and/or German. The paper title should be in the same language as the presentations, so please do not state an English title if you are going to give the presentation in German and vice versa. Please indicate for each author if he/she is going to present the paper. Co-authors who are not going to attend the convention may not be indicated as presenters.
• All participants have to register for the convention and pay a fee in order to gain access to the digital convention platform. If the registration is not completed by 15 August 2021, presenters cannot be included in the programme. We are going to inform you as soon as registration is possible.
• The EC seeks to open participation in DVPW events for early career scholars; equally, we strive for a higher number of women who actively take part in the convention. Panel organizers are therefore asked to aim for a balanced composition of their panel when selecting paper proposals.

Please submit your paper proposals by 28 February 2021 via the DVPW website.

The panel organizers are going to select the participants of the panel and communicate their decision to the selection committee by 31 March 2021. The selection committee is going to screen the panel proposals and coordinate the acceptance of individual paper proposals with the panel organizers if necessary. Final decisions about submissions are expected in early May 2021.
