You can reach the central campus of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in ten minutes on foot from the railway station (approx. 1000 metres):
Awareness
The awareness guidelines for the 29th DVPW Convention apply.
During the convention you can contact the awareness team at any time by phone, e-mail or in person. You can recognise the awareness team by the buttons (‘Brauchen Sie oder jemand anderes Hilfe? #AWARENESS’) and, during the convention party, by the glowing wristbands.
Room 1.164 in the Oeconomicum (directly opposite the ZHG) will also be available as a quiet room during the convention.
Book Exhibition
At this year's DVPW Convention, numerous publishers and science-related organisations will again be represented with book tables and information stands in the foyer of the ZHG.

Reception ‘Queers, Feminists & Friends’
The research section ‘Politik und Geschlecht’ and the thematic group ‘Queer_feministische Politikwissenschaft und LGBTIQ+ Studies’ in the DVPW invite all interested parties to the reception ‘Queers, Feminists & Friends’ on Thursday, 26 September 2024. The reception will take place after the evening event on the 1st floor of the foyer in the ZHG. During the reception, the Living Handbook ‘Politik und Geschlecht. Perspektiven der politikwissenschaftlichen Geschlechterforschung’ will also be presented at the reception.
Opening event
On Tuesday, 24 September at 18:00, the opening event will take place in the Central Lecture Hall Building (ZHG, Room 011), at which Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius will give the keynote speech.
Internet access (WLAN)
Two networks can be used on the campus itself during the convention: Eduroam (recommended) and the Guest network.
Eduroam: Please check that your Eduroam access is working BEFORE the convention. During the conventionwe will not be able to assist you with the setup. Please consult the Eduroam homepage to set it up.
Guest access for WLAN (GuestOnCampus): If you cannot access the internet via Eduroam, you can obtain guest access for the campus WLAN at any time at the information desk (foyer ZHG); this requires a short registration of the individual access. The guest access is then valid for the entire convention.
‘It's a match!’
On Tuesday, 24 September 2024, 12:30-14:00, ‘It's a match!’ will also take place at this convention for early career scholars (Q-Wissenschaftler*innen). All participants meet at 12:30 pm in room 2.101 in the Verfügungsgebäude (VG 2.101) for a joint kick-off before exchanges at the nine themed tables in various rooms of the Verfügungsgebäude begin. Participation is possible without prior registration.
‘It's a Match’ is organised by the Early Career Group International Relations (ECIB) and the Forum Junge Staats-, Policy- und Verwaltungsforschung (FoJuS).
Childcare
In the Oeconomicum (directly opposite the ZHG) you will find a space for breastfeeding and nappy-changing in room 1.164 (after the main entrance turn left into the staircase; the room is then on the 1st floor directly opposite the staircase). The breastfeeding and nappy-changing room is open for you throughout the official convention times.
The childcare room (room 1.162) is also located in the Oeconomicum. Childcare is organised and supervised by the Göttingen Childcare Service in cooperation with the University of Göttingen's Family Service. Prior registration is required. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs Daunicht from the childcare service.
Convention Party
The convention party will take place on Thursday evening, 26 September 2024, from approx. 21:00 in the foyer (ground floor) of the Central Lecture Hall Building (ZHG). Music will be provided by our colleague DJ Andreas Nölke. Of course, the results of the music survey among convention participants will be taken into account.
There will be no food on offer at the convention party. Drinks will be provided by Cateringhaus Göttingen. We have endeavoured to ensure that drinks can be offered at moderate prices: non-alcoholic drinks are available for 2.50-3 euros, beer and wine for 3.50-4.50 euros. Please note that you will have to pay for drinks in cash - and that there are no cash machines on the central campus.
MAXQDA-Workshop
On Tuesday, 24 September 2024, 12:30-14:00, a workshop on qualitative data analysis and visualisation with MAXQDA (in German) will take place in the Verfügungsgebäude (VG 0.111). Participation is possible without prior registration, but please inform yourself in advance about the technical requirements for participation.
Car park
Exhibitors can use the car park at Blauer Turm. Please register at the car park gate.
All other convention participants please use the public car parks around the campus (e.g. the paid car park on Weender Landtraße opposite the Bartholomäus cemetery).
Pollux Lounge
Between intensive panels and exciting roundtables, the Fachinformationsdienst (FID) Politikwissenschaft - Pollux cordially invites you to visit the Pollux Lounge in the foyer of the ZHG. The lounge offers comfortable seating that invites you to linger and network, but also creates space for rest and relaxation. A table football table is available for active breaks. When the weather is nice, you can use the outdoor area with comfortable deckchairs.

Award ceremony & scientific keynote
As part of the evening event on Thursday, 26 September 2024, from 18:00 (ZHG011), the DVPW academic prizes will be awarded: the DVPW Dissertation Awards 2022-2024, the Teaching Award for Political Science 2024 awarded jointly with the Schader Foundation and, for the first time, the new DVPW Lifetime Achievement Award. Afterwards, Professor Emeritus Brigid Laffan from the European University Institute in Florence will give her guest lecture on ‘In the Shadow of a Polycrisis: The European Union as a Collective Power’.

Registration
The possibility to register online on meineDVPW ends on 15 September 2024. During the convention, you can register for participation at the registration desk against cash payment of the full participation fee. Please note that on-site registration for participation in the convention will only open on Wednesday, 26 September 2024, at 8:30 am! Day tickets are not available.
If you have already registered for participation online, you can pick up your name badge at the registration & information desk in the foyer (ground floor) of the Zentrales Hörsaalgebäude (Central Lecture Hall Building, ZHG). The registration & information desk is staffed at the following times:

Sports and cultural programme
There is a free sports and cultural programme during the convention. You can take advantage of the running, walking and yoga programmes without prior registration. Please register online for the city and exhibition tours by 23 September 2024.

In principle, the assemblies are open to all convention participants and DVPW members, although only regular DVPW members are entitled to vote. However, non-members may be excluded from assemblies.
