The 29th Academic Convention of the German Political Science Association (DVPW) takes place on September 24 – 27, 2024 at the Georg-August-Universität in Göttingen. #dvpw2024

 

Sports and Cultural Programme

As part of the free cultural programme, you can explore the history of the city of Göttingen as well as the university and some of its facilities. For these offers, please register in advance by 23 September 2024 using this online form. The rule here is: first come, first served!

You can take advantage of the sports programme without prior registration.

Convention Programme

We have updated the programme for the 29th DVPW Convention! You can view it online on the convention website and download it as a PDF. The online programme will be continuously updated until 23 September 2024 and may therefore differ from the PDF.

We have added information on the framework programme. We are particularly looking forward to the keynote speech by Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius at the opening of the convention (24 September 2024, from 600 p.m.). Another highlight will be the evening event on Thursday: In addition to the presentation of the DVPW awards, Brigid Laffan (European University Institute, Florence) will give her guest lecture on ‘In the Shadow of a Polycrisis: The European Union as a Collective Power’, before the evening ends with the traditional convention party with DJ (and colleague) Andreas Nölke (26 September 2024, from 6:00 p.m.).

Also new to the programme is a DAVO-DVPW roundtable on Friday afternoon (27 September 2024, 2:15-3:45 p.m.) on ‘Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies in Dialogue: An Interdisciplinary Examination of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict’.

 

 

Childcare

During the DVPW Conention, we offer childcare provided by Kindertagespflege Göttingen on the premises of Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. With the support of the Family Office of the University of Göttingen, we can offer childcare free of charge. Registration is possible until 25 August 2024.

Call for Topics extended

You can now submit topic proposals for "It's a Match! - Discussing practical, conceptional and political challenges for early-career researchersuntil 24 May 2024 on meineDVPW.

Call for Topics: It's a Match!

The Early Career-Gruppe Internationale Beziehungen (ECIB) and the Forum Junge Staats-, Policy- und Verwaltungsforschung (FoJuS) cordially invite early career scholars (Q-Wissenschaftler*innen) to submit topic proposals for "It's a Match! - Discussing practical, conceptional and political challenges for early-career researchers". Before the start of the regular convention programme, early career and more experienced colleagues will be able to exchange ideas on various topics on 24 September 2024, 12:30-2:00 pm. You can find the complete call here on the website, and you can submit topic proposals until 17 May 2024 on meineDVPW.

Registration online

Registration for the 29th DVPW Convention is now online via meineDVPW ! Online registration closes on 15 September 2024, after which registration will only be possible at the convention against cash payment. An overview of the participation fees and further information on registration can also be found on this website.

All active participants must register for the convention by 25 February 2024 in order to be listed in the programme. Until 25 February 2024, there is also the possibility to apply for travel grants for participants from abroad and for early career scholars.

Letters of Acceptance

Today, the Programme Committee sends out the letters of acceptance for roundtables and panels at the 29th DVPW Convention 2024 by e-mail!

Registration for the convention will open in the portal “meineDVPW” in the next few days. The preliminary programme will be published in March. Please note that all active participants must register for the convention by 25 February 2024 in order to be listed in the programme.

Submissions

From now on you can submit your proposals for the different formats at the 29th DVPW Convention 2024! Please submit your proposals via the new portal "meineDVPW". For this you have to register once and then you can submit your proposals for roundtables, closed panels and papers.

Call for Papers

The Programme Committee has accepted 98 open panels for den 29th DVPW Convention in 2024 and today publishes the corresponding Call for Papers!  You can submit your paper proposal until October 31, 2023, via an online mask on this website.

Today the Programme Committee publishes the calls for roundtables and for panels for the 29th DVPW Convention 2024. Proposals for open panels can be submitted until June 30, 2023, proposals for closed panels and roundtables can be submitted until October 31, 2023, via an online mask on this website!
