With our 2025 annual conference, we want to discuss various dimensions of the conference topic “Labor, Unions, and the Future of Work.” An opening talk and discussion with Mary Anne Trasciatti (Hofstra University) will engage with Triangle Fire Memorial in New York to explore the significance of art, activism, and memorializing. In their keynote lectures, Colin Crouch (Warwick University) will explore today’s industrial relations systems and Sherry Lee Linkon (Georgetown University) will engage with Black women’s deindustrial imaginaries. Four panel sessions seek to explore different aspects of the conference topic in more depth: (1) Past Ideas on the Future of Work, (2) Feminist Conceptualizations of Labor and the Future of Work, (3) Race and the U.S. Labor Market, and (4) Practices, Imaginaries, and Institutions of Worker Organizing.
Conference attendance is free. To register, please send an email to infoamerika-akademiede.
The opening discussion and the keynote lectures will be live-streamed via YouTube (for YouTube, you do not have to register).
