Call for Papers: ACPS Virtual Conference on “Navigating the Dynamics of Chinese Politics: Domestic and Global Developments”

Conference Dates: December 6-8, 2024

Location: online via Zoom

Abstract Submission Deadline: October 11, 2024

Conference Outline:
The landscape of Chinese politics is undergoing significant transformations, both domestically and on the global stage. As China continues to assert its influence worldwide while navigating internal challenges, it becomes imperative for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to deepen their understanding of these dynamics. This conference aims to bring together leading experts from various disciplines to engage in robust discussions, share cutting-edge research, and explore the multifaceted dimensions of Chinese politics.


The conference will focus on the following topics:


1. Domestic politics in China after the pandemic
2. China and the Global South (with a special focus on Africa and Latin America)
3. China’s role in global governance (with a particular focus on, but not limited to, climate change governance)

4. Lighting panel featuring the work of young scholars in the fields of Chinese politics

Abstracts: Please submit an abstract of no more than 300 words outlining the main arguments, methodology, and theoretical framework to

Deadline: All submissions must be received by October 11, 2024.
Notification: Authors will be notified of the ACPS board decision by October 29, 2024.

Full Papers: Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit full papers of up to 8,000 words.

Publication Opportunities:
Selected papers from the conference will be considered for publication in a special issue.
