CfP - Statistics, Politics and Policy

We thus invite statistics-based and policy-centered contributions to the regional field of West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Maroc, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo). We especially invite submissions on the following areas and topics:

• Regional focus and comparative perspectives of different countries in West Africa

• Cross-country system comparisons (politics and polity)

• Policy evaluation and impact assessment

• Democracy and autocracy

• Comparative aspects of security policy and transition of power

• Economic policy of infrastructure and development

• Economic and political alliance in the region (ECOWAS); West African Monetary Union (WAMU); Union économique et monétaire ouest-africaine (UEMOA)

We accept the submission of research notes (5,000 words max.) and full articles (9,000 words) for this special issue.

Rewarding outstanding work

In 2023 and 2024 the Board of Editors will award the Emil J. Gumbel Prize to the author of an outstanding contribution published in Statistics, Politics and Policy. The reward includes a financial incentive of 500 USD. Manuscripts should be submitted until 30th of June 2024.
