Job description:
- Conduct research and publish in the fields of European Union polity, politics, and/or policy, or European multilevel governance; participate in research grant applications
- Contribute to teaching in the department’s study programs (two courses per semester / 4 SWS)
- Support the organizational and administrative activities of the Chair
- Opportunity for further academic qualification (Habilitation)
Required qualifications:
- University degree (Diplom (univ.) or Master’s) with excellent results in political science or a related discipline
- Completed PhD program by the start of employment, with above-average results, in political science or a related field, with research focusing on European Union polity, politics, and/or policy, or European multilevel governance. Applicants who are in the final stages of their doctoral studies will also be considered.
- Experience with publications in international peer-reviewed academic journals or corresponding publication potential
- An emerging independent research agenda
- Strong knowledge of political science research methods with competencies in computational social science and/or text-as-data methods
- Excellent command of English; very good knowledge of German
