Employment conditions:
The holder of the position is expected to participate in research conducted within a research project funded by the German Research Association (DFG) on “Trust in politicians: The Role of Representation” (TRUPOL). The successful applicant is expected to contribute to analyzing project data and to publishing its results in internationally visible venues. Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to organizational matters related to the project.
Qualifications:
To be eligible for employment, the applicant is expected to have finished an advanced degree in Political Science or in another field within the Social Sciences with excellent results. A completed PhD is welcome but not a requirement. Applicants are expected to be highly proficient in oral and written English. Proficiency in German is welcome but not a requirement. In the selection of qualified candidates, particular attention will be paid to the applicants’ potential to conduct theory driven empirical research in the area of comparative politics documented by prior work. Weight will be accorded to skills in quantitative methods that have been successfully applied in prior work. Considerable weight will also be accorded to the applicants’ ability to work in groups and interact with colleagues.
