We are delighted to offer a PhD position in the working group 'Deliberation, Valuation & Sustainability" at the Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) in Bremen, Germany. Students would contribute to the project “Transdisciplinary Science for Sustainable Tourism”, which explores interconnections between the global tourism economy and local social-ecological challenges in small-scale tourism destinations along tropical coasts, with a focus on tourism-generated wastewater pollution.
The PhD position is fully funded for 4.5 years (versus the usual 3), aiming to ensure time for transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary project integration. Students will work at the ZMT, a highly international, interdisciplinary, and mission-focused research institute, and will be enrolled in the University of Bremen, at the Institute for Geography. The everyday language of communication at the ZMT, as well as the dissertation language, is English.
